Mayor Brown joined by members of Airdrie City Council accepted a cheque presented by representatives from Airdrie Minor Hockey including Player Development Coordinator Jason Pisarczyk and the Atom Tier 2 Lightning. This 100,000 payment kicks off AMHA's payment plan with the City of Airdrie for their commitment towards the capital cost of Genesis Place Phase III. In March 2011, Airdrie Minor Hockey committed to paying $469,000 as a major ice user to see the construction process of the new Twin Arenas moved forward by more than two years. To date, AMHA has paid $183,268.60.
