The 2020-21 Hockey Season is uncertain in these unprecedented times. The Airdrie Minor Hockey Association is eager to get our athletes back on the ice when it is safe to do so. We understand that the way we have played and practiced before may change due to restrictions or that there may not be a hockey season at all. We are prepared to be flexible and respond to the changing environment. However, at this time, we are forging ahead as if hockey will be as we’ve always known it. AMHA Hockey registration opened, June 1st.
Many of you are asking about refunds if the hockey season doesn’t happen. Right now, at the time of registration we are asking you to pay a small portion of your fees in the form of a $75 deposit fee and any applicable conditioning camp and tryout fees, to hold your player’s spot. The base fee for the division and stream can be paid in full or by choosing the payment plan.
If hockey does not happen, base fees, conditioning camp fees and tryout fees minus the $75 deposit fee will be refunded. The $75 deposit goes towards paying for the fixed costs, including the staff who work year-round, planning in the pre and post season. We are still planning for hockey to resume on time with AHS guidelines in place and while contingencies are being discussed, nothing has been formalized, nor can it be without more information from Hockey Canada, Hockey Alberta and Alberta Health Services.
We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this uncertainty.
Regards,
AMHA Executive Committee
