[Airdrie, Alberta] - [April 24, 2024] - Global Sport Academy, a subsidiary of Village Sports is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Airdrie Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) and the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee (AEHC) to revolutionize player development and support within the local hockey community.

In collaboration with AMHA, Global Sport Academy (Village Sports) has been selected as the contracted partner to bolster the high-performance and elite streams within the AMHA draw zone. This partnership will focus on fostering synergy, consistency, and simplification in player development. Global Sport Academy (Village Sports) will introduce a comprehensive team-integrated individual player development program aimed at enhancing physical and character/leadership training for athletes. Additionally, a cross-functional team support and coach mentorship model will be implemented to provide athletes, families and coaches with increased resources and support.

This collaboration will directly benefit the eight AA teams within AMHA, spanning from U11 to U18 for both male and female teams. By providing a unified and structured approach to player development, AMHA aims to elevate the performance and experience of its athletes and coaches.

Similarly, within the AEHC, Global Sport Academy (Village Sports) will take the helm of hockey operations for the U18AAA CFR Chemicals Bisons, U17AAA Cannex Avalanche, and U15AAA Airdrie Xtreme teams. This strategic alignment under the governance of the AEHC aims to create a more cohesive and synergistic experience for athletes and families. Global Sport Academy (Village Sports) will implement a team-integrated individual player development program, along with a more robust cross-functional team support and coach mentorship model to enhance programming and resources for athletes, families and coaches.

This partnership will directly benefit the three AAA teams within AEHC; the U15AAA Airdrie Xtreme, U17AAA Cannex Avalanche, and U18AAA CFR Chemicals Bisons. By providing tailored support and development opportunities, AEHC aims to position its AAA teams for success on and off the ice.

Through these partnerships, AMHA and AEHC are demonstrating their dedication to providing comprehensive support and resources for athletes at all levels of competition. By prioritizing player development and mentorship, they aim to cultivate a thriving hockey community rooted in excellence, integrity, and inclusivity.
