The young man then turned around and pointed at my son Nick and motioned for us to pass the puck down to hima. Whata??? We thanked him very much and Nick went over to say Thank You as well. After the game, we introduced ourselves to (Joel÷ (did not get his last name) and asked why he did such a great thing. He simply said that he remembered his first Flames game as a kid where he got an errant puck and how good it felt. Since Nick was having such a great time, he thought it would be a nice thing to do.
A few moments later, a hard puck flies just past
Now that in itself is a pretty cool story, but wait; it gets bettera..
As we were leaving the Saddledome and heading down Olympic Way,
She asks the first person walking in front of us whether he dropped a $20, and honestly, he replied that it was not his. She moves on the next person ahead of him, and asks the same question. Sure enough, this young fellow had just pulled out his cell phone and the money had popped out of his pocket. As she hands him the money, I realize that it is none other than Joel, the generous young man that had just given his puck away to Nick. Now remember that
I believe that when you do something good for someone else, it always comes back to you, just not always as quickly as in Joel¦s case. Thanks to AMHA for doing so much good for so many in the Airdrie hockey community.
This is a memory that our family will have forever thanks to the generosity of AMHA and others involved with the IIHF WJH Organization.
