The Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee is searching for one Assistant Coach for our U18AAA Bison and our U17AAA Avalanche teams. Due to the outstanding recognition of our program, several of our coaches have graduated to full time positions with Junior, U.S. College and other upper-level organizations. If you would truly like the opportunity to advance your career, you might be interested in joining and being mentored by our two outstanding AAA Coaches, Dustin Taylor from the U18AAA Bisons, and Brett Robertson from the U17 AAA Avalanche.
Here’s a sample of the responsibilities:
Please note that the Bisons practice from Tuesday through Friday from 8:45 AM - 10:00 AM (some flexibility required)
TEAM PREPARATION
Work in collaboration with Head Coach on weekly team plan
- Attend weekly coaching staff meetings
- Individual player meetings as directed by Head Coach
- Goalie communication and input on starts
- Discuss Affiliated players for practice and games
- Individual player video (breakdown and delivery)
- Statistics breakdown and use in practices, pre-game prep, and in-game
- In collaboration with Head Coach, semi-regular delivery of team video sessions
TEAM PLAY
- Lead, in consultation with the Head Coach, all facets of the Penalty Kill
- Support the Head Coach in all aspects of the Power Play
- In consultation with the Head Coach, develop Play With The Puck Foundations
- Breakouts, OZ Entries, OZ Play, NZ Transitions
- In consultation with the Head Coach, develop Play Without The Puck Foundations
- Forecheck, DZ Coverage, Tracking and Sort Outs
- Semi-regular practice plan creation and delivery of practice
